Record-breaking weather

We have broken records - some that are 120 years old - with our cool summer temperatures. I'm loving it so much!! We had a heat wave last week, but it wasn't horrible. It was 88 a few days ago, 68 today. Our daily high temps have been about 68-72 degrees for most of the summer. Perfect!!!

You'd think the (spoiled) people here would see the hot weather around the country and be grateful, but no......

I'd have to wear a jacket! Today, it was 87, and tomorrow we expect 90. In fact the whole week will be really hot. I love California, but I'd get a furnace if I were you! Of course, I don't have any blood....

Oh, believe me, I'm a bit layered up, but I so much prefer that than being hot. I love sleeping with blankets (and cats) on me.

Well, take comfort that the average price of a regular little home isn't $300,000 where you live.

Ahh, that's how our temperatures were last summer!! I didn't turn on the AC until mid-August.. it was an absolutely wonderful season. I wish I could say the same for this summer here!

We had a little break in the heat the end of last week, but we're back in it again. I think this is the warmest, longest summer I ever remember. Our transition from winter to summer lasted about 3 weeks...we were consistently hitting temps in the 70's in April...when it's usually 40-50 with an occasional 70. And it's been really warm ever since and hardly any rain. The grass is brown, brown, brown. And by now we're usually seeing hints of fall color, but so far nothing...which may mean color could be very blah this year.

It sounds just like PA weather this year. The trees aren't turning, though. We've had mostly drought after that beautiful spring. I thought I was going to have the most beautiful flowers ever. But the grass is brown, like yours, and the weeds are doing better than the flowers.
