I enjoyed the new Sherlock Holmes on PBS last night

This series is set in contemporary times and Sherlock is a fan of modern technology. I thought all of the actors with the exception of Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock were great. He seems like he's channeling Dr. Who. Its too bad they didn't have the actor who played Mycroft playing Sherlock instead.

We're only getting 3 episodes in the first series this year. The first episode was "A Study in Pink". I loved the ending. How about you Hugh?

The last time people tried to elimate free roaming cats it resulted in The Black Plague.

Brilliant brilliant brilliant. Loved this program. Gotta say I quite liked the man with the stupidest name in the world as Sherlock, but casting Freeman as Dr Watson was a stroke of genius.

I really enjoyed it and was so disappointed when I learned it was only three episodes

Just out of interest - Benedict Cumberbatch was considered/approached to play Dr Who before they eventually cast Matt Smith.

I have always enjoyed Sherlock Holmes. It's a shame the series isn't going to run all season. I didn't see it advertised.

I haven't seen it to judge... but you enjoyed PBS? I'm so confused.

Its on PBS you can track down your local channel and time by googling PBS Sherlock Holmes and possibly Masterpiece Theater.

Oh, I know I get Masterpiece Theater! I hope it's still on. ( repeats, of course) However, I like the period versions best. And whoever plays Holmes better look like Basil Rathbone!

Who the bunnyland is he?

As I said, the man who plays Holmes has possibly the stupidest name in the world, but I think he fits the role quite well.

Are you guys able to watch Merlin? Another BBC gem. It's Merlin the young kid (looks JUST like a mate of mine) with a young Prince Arthur. Oh and a VERY hot Morgana.
Great series.

We had a Merlin series here, not sure if it was renewed.

Hugh, he was a British actor who played Sherlock Holmes in quite a few movies. Nigel Bruce was Mr. Watson. (who played Lassie's original owner in Lassie Come Home, another oldie.) These movies are quite old, but the only Sherlock Holmes movies I ever saw. When I think of Holmes, I think of him. He matches the description in the stories by Arthur Conan Doyle.

I checked the menu, and the new movies are not scheduled this week, as Google reported.
