Voting Day

I just got back from voting. This was a gubenatorial and state Senate election. Just thought I'd remind everyone. The polls have been busy...in spurts, the helpers said.

When I voted at 7:30 this morning I got right in and there always used to be a line at that time. Maybe it's because more people are voting absentee now.

And this was a primary election. I'm sure people don't think it's as important.

I haven't gone to a voting place since 2004. I love voting from home. Going to vote, standing in line and listening to the ignorance was too scary.

We have early voting in our state. I really like being able to go in when it is convient for me.

I voted after work, there are two polling places three blocks from my house. It was pretty busy, I was so glad, love to see that.

Midterm election, maybe.
Primaries were over long ago.

Our county allowed us to vote anywhere in the county limits - they have a computer program that lets them check our voting status so they know if we've already voted. And their website showed the wait at each of the polling places - though it was off by an hour or more.

What I can't stand is that all our polling booths have on the front page as a gigantic option:

VOTE STRAIGHT TICKET - (democrat / republican / libertarian)

What the heck!??!?!?!? Why would anyone be voting so carelessly? If you don't know anything about two candidates, DO NOT VOTE.

We all know there are some current officials and candidates who are outright crooks, regardless of whether they decide to run as a Republican or Democrat, and it'd be crazy to see them win just because some area is primarily one or the other party.

Marsha, I know it wasn't a primary; I was voting for governor and state senators. I misspoke! My candidate for governor lost, unfortunately.

It looks like my candidate for governor may pull it out, yay!
Unfortunately, I live in the state of Michele Bachmann, and she still reigns
