Woo hoo!

A bit off topic, but I was looking at my AAA magazine this weekend (I usually just toss it) and noticed that if you have AAA, you get 10% off Target.com. No restrictions. I used to use my discounts all the time, especially at the Greek restaurant where I ate lunch, but I've forgotten all about it these past couple of years.

I bought my kitties a small three level condo/perch thing at Ross the other day for $25. Was a little disappointed as its very wobbly even though everything is tightly connected. Needless to say, they have had more fun with the box. Not only is it a box, but it has two holes that were windows to view the material so they can bop each other from inside the box

My kitchen floor has boxes scattered over it most the time. Two permanent water boxes, because Lucy has to have at least 2, one for her, and one for Patches to lay next to her. I made little kitty pads to fit each one, so they each have pads in them too. Right now they have a long narrow tunnel type one along the wall, it had a flash light stand in it, and it works perfect for them to run through.

I didn't know retailers did that. AAA discounts on hotels and car rentals are amazing and when I moved from the cold Norteast to Florida I got a massive AAA discount on the Auto Train. It was $118 for a private 1st class cabin on the train that moved my car. Driving would have cost that much just for gas. Instead I had a private berth, waitered meal and got to sleep overnight from Wahington to Orlando all for $118.

AAA also got me a $500 discount 10 years ago when I bought a car. I like AAA.

Wish I'd known this!

Quote:
AAA members save an average of 35 percent on generic and 15 percent on brand name prescriptions at more than 59,000 pharmacies nationwide, including most major retail stores, such as WalMart, Rite Aid and CVS/pharmacy. Savings can also be applied to pet medications filled through a pharmacy.

I got so excited last night because there were TWO Craigslist ads with people giving away heavy-duty moving boxes --- one person had two 4-5 foot long ones! But my emails got no replies. This place is so full of boxes, I probably would have had to nail them to the ceiling, anyway. (Ooh, that would be fun!)

BTW, who needs some Hide, Perch & Go boxes? I have about 500 of them (unassembled) in my barn. And here I am, soliciting more boxes....

Oh! Elsie, I would LOVE some of those! I keep trying to find some to order on the internet, and apparently the only way to get some IS at 500 at a time! I only need maybe half a dozen (that would last me all year, maybe longer).
Not sure I could pay very much for them, like $5 each max... trying to be better with my money this year, yanno

I just spent $25 buying plastic storage bins (18 gallon totes) to use for cleaning out my attic and shed. Though a couple I'm going to turn into "snuggle boxes". you cut a hole in one side, put a blanket inside, and it makes a sturdy little den for the kitties! Lasts lots longer than cardboard, and easy to clean up (just spray with bleach solution and wipe dry).
They were on sale at Lowes for $2.50 each, and usually are $4.99 - so I bought 10.
