Swim around Manhattan

When I visited the Blind Cat Rescue in North Carolina I met Julie. She is planning on swimming the 28.5 miles around Manhattan on June 18th, 2011. She is doing it to raise money for the Blind Cat Rescue. (This is not an appeal to give money. Iím well aware of the rule on CF) I thought others would love to see such an awesome accomplishment plus she is an avid cat and bird lover. A unique way to raise funds for the rescue she believes in.

For those of us in rescue we are always on the look out for unique and fun ways to raise money for our rescues. This is the most unique one, so far, that Iíve heard of! Plus she is an awesome person!

Wow! I'm impressed. I can't even swim.

That's an incredible feat, if she does it. Even if I could swim that far (and I do swim laps), I'm not sure I would want to get in that water!

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer is swimming in the East River. Yuck.

I like Presto's idea of giving her the money NOT to swim. Who knows what cooties could be in that water. What a brave lady!

I was thinking of 'The Nanny' episode where Fran's mother kept getting that weird rash from eating mutant seafood from the river.
