Apparently, my part of SoCal didn't look at the calendar...

It's October 13. In other parts of the USA, it's fall. They're experiencing fall-like temperatures. Not here in Montclair. It's currently 85 degrees Fahrenheit (or 29.4 degrees Celsius for the other members who don't use Fahrenheit) and it's only 9:50 am. It's supposed to get up to 103 degrees Fahrenheit (39.4 degrees Celcius) today. I'm staying in today where the A/C is.

ETA: It looks like today will be the hottest day, with tomorrow being 92, and then the weekend being in the mid-80s, while starting on Monday until October 20, it will hover around the low- to mid-80s, with it going down to the upper 70s on the 21st.

Not to worry. Here in Minnesota, we have had an unusually warm, and dry, September and October. It rained yesterday for the first time in a month and now we are supposed to get back to normal temps. The long range forecast for the Winter is for the influence of La Nina, resulting in colder than normal. That's going out on a limb - Cold weather in Minnesota in the Winter!

I sympathize. I'm also in CA and while we had a few days of cooler weather last week (and even some rain!) it's right back up to the 80s and 90s this week. :/ It was 84 degrees at 11pm last night. Pretty ridiculous.

I'm in So Cal too. Today when I ran errands on my lunch break, it was 92, and I'm really near the coast. That's really hot here given that it rarely gets over 80 where I'm at. We were in the 70s here nearly all summer (other than a hot week or two here or there), and this week it has been warmer than it was at any point this past summer.

Fall's my favorite season, and summer my least favorite, so this is a bummer for me.

*Waaahhh!*
I want to live in So. Cal!

There was snow on the ground a few days ago. Granted, it melted by the end of the day, but still!
In my opinion, there should only be snow between Dec. 21 and March 21. In fact, if it stopped snowing in February I'd be more than ecstatic!

My camping trip on Memorial day got snowed on! 3 inches of that heavy wet stuff...it broke several people's tents...and they were STURDY tents with metal poles! (of course it broke my tent, but I got one of those dinky pop-up kind)

Summer was WAY too short in Utah, this year *pouts profusely*

We broke lots of records in San Diego County yesterday. But October is usually when we get the Santa Ana winds - and horrible fires. We're on fire-watch right now, and they knocked down two fires this week pretty quick, one was next to the Wild Animal Park.

Hey...I'm in NH where we're really supposed to get fall weather and it has been in the 80's for most of the last week. Finally broke yesterday. By now we've usually had a killing frost, but the flowers are still blooming and the leaves are really behind schedule.
