Cat meets Mountain Lion

Photos: Mountain Lion checks out cat in Boulder

Zeus, an 11-year-old Maine Coon cat, had a curious encounter with a young mountain lion in Boulder, with the pair safely separated by a sliding glass door.

The cats checked each other out at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Pine Brook Hills area of Boulder. Gail Loveman, Zeusís owner, said she was busy in the office of her home when she heard a noise and turned to see a young mountain lion on the porch.

Story and photos here.

The last time people tried to elimate free roaming cats it resulted in The Black Plague.

Closest I could come to this was when the "grandcat" was visiting and saw a fox for the first time.

The size comparison makes th Maine Coon look HUGE! I get that it's a cub, but still. It would be awesome to see wildlife so close.

It does look thin. The spine and hips are pretty defined. If it were me, instead of taking pictures I'd be figuring out what in my yard attracted the cougar and how to discourage it from returning. I would not want to walk out of the house and be caught off guard by a cougar cub or not especially not a hungry one.

Maybe it was trying to hide from the cat statue! (on the veeerrry left side of the picture, by a tree...looks like a bear)
