Actually about 10 years. he is closer to 11 though (got him at about a year).
Hes the one starting to have the arthritis troubles.
I very regularly treat him to belly rubs, brushing (with my hands, but itworks), and now I also try to work in some massage on his back legs too. Who knows if it does anything, i dont want to push too hard for fear of hurting him... but a soft massage, even if it doesnt particularly help, cant hurt! He also shares a few fries with me if we eat over. and he knows it. of all the people (his own people, and me and my mom), he will sit in front of me. dog breath doesnt even bother me. if im done eating my mom is next in line. lol.
hes too cute.
(for the record Max got his share of belly rubs, brushing, and fries too. it was actually me rubbing his belly that found the unusual hardness which lead to all the rotten news and decisions.)
When Max and marley were both younger, they were great friends! They were both regularly crusty around their necks from each others slobber in their furr. quite gross but in the nicest way. lol.
