a family friend asked me to put windows 7 on his laptop which had vista
I have a fresh w7 (same one I used to put on my personal computer) and MS office 2010 (done it last year but I dont think I had problems on mine)
anyways I did the install and it saved a folder on the computer as Old.windows
tried to install MS and it gave this error MS 2010 does not support upgrading from a prerelease version of ms 2010 you must first uninstall the prerelease version products and and associated technologies
I then downloaded a trial version on MS website and tried to install and still same problem.
so I am not sure but it thinks I had or have an MS on computer before and wants me to uninstall it first
however the computer is clean there is no MS stuff in the uninstall control penal thingy and I looked at the old old.windows folder and didnt see anything related.. just for the **** of it I deleted the old.windows folder all together just to be safe and its still giving me the same error when I try to install MS
any idea what I can do ?
is it possible that the old windows saved some kinda file that is still on the computer ever tho I deleted the old.windows folder already but its still giving me the error as if a file is still present on the computer
I downloaded a few uninstall sweepers and none of em helped find the file that im suppose to uninstall prior to installing a new MS
