Karaoke

Does anyone here do karaoke? I love it! There's just something about getting up and singing. It's a little scary, but that adds to the fun! I like to sing soft rock or country, OR belt out some Queen or AC/DC!

My favorite song to sing is Glory of Love by Peter Cetera.

And best of all-you don't have to know how to sing!!!

Any other Karaoke-Kas in the house?

I used to do it a lot. The trick for me is to sing a song that requires little vocal ability. Song 2 by Blur is fun and easy for me because I can do the "Woo-hoo" very well. Rebel Rebel by David Bowie and Low by Cracker are tunes I can sing that don't make people head for the door.
I've tried some songs that I thought might be easy, and they weren't. Cold Gin by Kiss, for example. When you think of Kiss you don't necessarily think of talent so I figured it couldn't be that hard. It was.

HAHA! I love Karaoke, but I am not the best singer(or the boldest person. ;P). My trick is to wait till later in the night when most people at the bar are drunk enough to not mind if I mess up. LOL

I did it once, my 18th birthday. I wasn't drunk enough apparently because I am still embarrassed by that night....17 years ago! Was rather hoping that memory would have disappeared by now lol.

I limit my singing talent to an empty house and the game RockBand. My cats don't care if I botch it ha ha.

I do it at home for now, but next year I'll be able to go to some Karaoke bars here in Vegas and probably have some good times

I love going and seeing others get up and sing but I could never do it myself!

I haven't done kareoke in over a year but its fin. I'm not a great singer and I love to go on right after someone bombs so I sound good by comparison lol. My go to songs are sublime's santeria and I really want to try fiona apple. Other than that, alone in my car is a perfect place or when I'm at home with just the animals. They sing too sometimes.

I've done karaoke for a very long time. I progressed to performances and then back down to casual home karaoke.

Just a pointer for some of those interested. Here are some programs you can use:

Audacity - freeware, used for recording audio
Goldwave - not free, but can download for trial. Audio editor
Virtualdub - freeware, video editing software. Both Goldwave and Audacity offer voice removal. After doing that, you can then splice it into a video to create a karaoke vid.
AV Video Karaoke Maker - freeware. Used to add lyrics to an existing video. I personally haven't used this.

I've also recently added some more professional mic equipment to my arsenal. Xmas present to myself!

My new mic!
Audio-Technica - Microphones, headphones, wireless microphone systems, noise-cancelling headphones & more : AT2035 Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The USB adapter
Shure Americas | X2u XLR-to-USB Signal Adapter
Pop Filter
