High school reunions

Who's been to one of these? I have one coming up and I hope it's not the stereotypical 'let's see if I've done better than ____' events where everyone checks out everyone else to see who's better.

My 10th was fun, it was at a country club with a live band.
20th and 30th were both at a local hotel with the typical rubber chicken.
The 30th was also the 100th anniversary of the school and was also a reunion of all the other classes.
Don't know if I do the 40th next year, seems like there's more people below ground and while I see a few people who I attended grade school with none of the people I ran with attend.

No one from my class ever took the initiative to organize one. I would have gone though.

I did, however go to my best friend's(from H.S.) daughter's wedding a few years ago. It was just like a reunion. It was really fun to see people I had hung out with. Of course there was one guy who I didn't like back then & he was just as obnoxious now. I recognized everyone; they just looked older

I went to my 10 year a few years ago just because I was going to be in town anyways. Really nothing I didn't expect....we all knew everything worth knowing about each other because of facebook anyways.

My class is organizing a 5 year reunion. 5 years!? Seriously, I thought we were supposed to wait ten. Am I going? Probably not. Flying back to my small town in Oklahoma from Las Vegas would be too much of an effort for people I don't like. Maybe in 20 years I'll go and be famous. .
