One step away from volunteering...

at the Inland Valley Humane Society and SPCA. I just have to complete the shadowing portion of the training (which is this Wednesday). After that, I can come to the shelter at any time while they're open, just as long as it's during business hours. My daughter,Laure, is also going to be volunteering with me as well. I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks! I know I want to do something with animals, and I figured that volunteering would be a good way to get started.

How did it go on Wednesday?

Volunteering is pretty fun - I volunteer at a cat sanctuary of ~700 cats... you're around a lot of animals and a lot of great animal loving people.

If it's anything like the place I volunteer for, there's a coffee break with really tasty stuff that people have made at home or bought from a store! Last week there were these cinnamon buns from a store I've never heard of that apparently won best cinnamon buns in the city... and now I know why! And it's not just about the food and coffee, even though I've spent the better part of my post talking about it.

It went fine, though I don't think I'm cut out for dog-walking. Maybe I just need to walk a calmer dog, or even better, a cat! lol!
