Problems Along US Mexican Border.

Ive found many of my friends all over the US dont seem to
realize how bad things are along our US / Mexican border. I wont
TNR in some areas anymore let alone drive some areas.
No wonder those of us who live here no longer feel safe.

This is but one seizure that has taken place along
the border over the past year.
I have several friends in the border patrol in our area.
This is what is going on. You wont hear much about this on the news.
This is a major problem.

Stash of asault rifles apprehended by our border patrol.
Each of these weapons could be sold for as much
as $5,000 on the black market in the USA.

More than 200 large weapons were confiscated along
with about 30 smaller arms. 2 grenade launchers were
among the cache.

More than 60 grenades of varying size were
found Arabic writing was found on them.

Still more rifles were found stuffed in several SUV's.

Merry, my mother-in-law lives south of Tuscon, so we follow Arizona news more closely than most folks. What you are sharing is not a surprise to me, but it is horrifying to see the photos. It is a truly dangerous situation! I don't know what the solution is...

It's very frustrating that so much of the country doesn't understand the problem. They pass through our border states and end up all over the country. This is a serious problem for everyone.

That is horrifying. I wonder why the national news doesn't follow this more closely?

It turns into a discussion/arguement about illegals, which is very political. This gets more headlines, more readers/viewers, which gets more money for the news corporation.

The bottomline of the safety of US citizens (guns, drugs). It has to be dealt with now.

Possible solution? Give Texas back to Mexico.

So then all the states surrounding Texas have the same problem. How about the US just take over Mexico? Makes the same amount of sense...

You don't actually think I'm serious do you?

The problems are far more complex for most people to comprehend.

I do comprehend how serious the issues and the people are. As someone who once routinely parked her car and walked over the bridge into Juarez then south for kicks I sometimes wonder if the real answer might not be to give Texas back to Texas, Make it a True sister state with it's own set of rules and laws without federal interference - of course then Texas would spread and take over the entire border.....

I think the biggest problem we face as a country is that we were never intended to be as centrally governed as we are. The area is too vast, too different and with soo many different issues facing each region that no single set of plans can allow for all of the needs.

I often wonder why people forget that we as a country were designed to be a union of independent states that only came together when threatened or faced with a true national dilemma? WWI or WWII made sense but not everyday...

I've had the privilege of the living in NC, and IL & WI, PA & NJ, AZ, MI, WA and have spent a fair amount of time living and all over wandering (in my younger years) the US and found to my delight that while I couldn't make it to Europe or Asia the vast differences in landscapes and peoples here almost made up for that.

Thanks for posting the photos M&T I hope you keep doing so, links too if you've got them I'm going to pass them on to some family and friends. I wish I had more help for solutions, then again I think we all do....As it stands my hat comes off and my heart goes out to the brave men and women doing that job.
To you my forum friend, may I please say continue to be wise in your choices for if you were injured there would be no one to help the kitties.
