The acronym "dh"

This is going to make me sound pretty naive, but I have to ask what "dh" means. I realize that people are referring to their husbands/partners or whatever you wish to call them. I just can't figure out what it really stands for.

Every time I see it I think "my dumb husband".

I believe it's dear husband.

I use 'SO' for my Significant Other.

Darling/Dear Husband. Maybe some people use it to mean dumb, too! Haha...

I've never much liked those acronyms for partners.

Bahahaha don't feel naive, I had to look for all of them, even OH and SO and I had no idea about DH either...I had unspeakable meanings for all of them.

You should see some of the abbreviations we use on the parrot forum for the different species of parrots: CAG, BHC, GCC, SP, PFLB, QP.....

Of course here you guys would the the DSH, DLH, etc. stuff. With me being unfamiliar with texting abbreviations I am always asking what those LMAO and other things mean. I am sure the younger posters get a good laugh out of that.

OH = Other Half

It's also the U.S. Postal abbreviation for the state of Ohio.
