Best Star Trek movie?

Strange as it sounds,I liked The Voyage Home best. I wish Kirk and crew could have spent more time in 1986 San Fran. It's like they came to OUR world-and someone from ours went to the 23rd century. Whatever happened to Gillian?

AND option 11:Star Trek

Vote for the re-imagining done by JJ Abrams here!

About The Voyage Home, the probe was really intriguing! There was a novel done on the probe a seemingly intelligent machine that closely resembles the planet killer TOS. Who sent the probe. Why? Unanswered questions

My vote is for the (not out yet) one with Benedict Cumberpatch (Sherlock Holmes from BBC's Sherlock).

I'm a *serious* Star Trek geek so it's hard for me to pick just one but I did, just for the humanity factor in it.

In fact, I'm watching Voyager as I type.

another trek geek here and as far as movies go, in my mind it is a landslide - KHAAAAAN!

in a distant second - first contact

jj did, imo, an excellent job with star trek. i loved that he made sure to put in quite a few little "nods" to trek canon, i especially loved the mention of archers beagle.

to me a harder question is what order to rate the series.

They did a good job with the new Star Trek, but changing the timeline was cheating and just for that I am unhappy with it. But the cinematography and casting and all that was quite good and I thought they did a good job with it. I am just unhappy with their sleight of hand.

When I watch the series I bounce to different ones to stay in chronological order. Very geek.

For instance last night I was watching DS9 but had to bounce to Voyager to stay in chronological order, in a little bit I'll have to bounce back to DS9 and finish up that series and I can come back to Voyager.

I actually liked the first one best. Being a hard-core sci-fi fan, of all the Star Trek movies the first one was the most "science fiction-y," and second, it had a deep philosophical message the others largely lacked (merging with the creator).

well, i voted for the voyage home, too. i didn't really start getting into star trek till @ the 3rd or 4th season actually of the next generation. my hubby would definitely vote for Khan, though. he jokes that voyage home is way too cutesy for TOS fans. however, if the latest star trek movie was part of this list, i'd be VERY tempted to vote for that one. the special effects and stunts just get better and better with time. and JJ Abrams did such an amazing job of making every character really cool!
