Everybody dies, it's nature. We will all go at some point. We all know this. Yet, there are certain people in human history which are so ingrained in our conciousness that it almost seems impossible that they could do so. The first man to walk on our moon is now no longer with us.

Neil Armstrong was one of the most famous people in the world. He will never be forgotten by the history books. I find his story fascinating, not for his achievements, but for the way he dealt with the fame and the attention. A recluse, modest to extremes, and seemed to hate attention, he was the antithesis of the celebrity culture, even in the 1960s.

God Speed Commander Armstrong.

Do you think he's back visiting the moon right now?

His walk made my birthday famous. The original schedule called for them to land on the Moon on July 20th, 1969, go to sleep and make the walk on July 21st. They didn't want to wait, so they talked Mission Control into letting them walk early.

One of the amusement parks near here used to have a ride with the Moon landing as its theme. They had the date of the walk listed wrong, so I got it corrected.

The astronauts were heros to millions. Neil was one of my favorites and he will be missed.
