Ah,Fall! Cider, donuts and books! Perfect cat-snuggling weather, too! anyone snuggled up with a good book?

I'm trying to find Golem In The Gears by Piers Anthony! He's a clever author,he peppers his stories with wordplay and puns!

I am currently reading a book called I Am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced. on my NOOK for PC at work. Very tragic and compelling read.

At home I'm reading a book called The American Plague about the yellow fever epidemic in the late 1800s.

NEither are very warm and cuddly, but there you have it. I don't particularly like fiction books. I'd rather read a great biography, a blood chilling true crime, or a piece of actual history. HOWEVER, if I do pick up something fiction it will absolutely be Sci-FI or fantasy. Those fascinate me if they are well done.

I might have to read Peeps by Scott Westerfeld soon.

Of course, I can't do that without a cup of Jade Oolong or a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I'm out of Jade Oolong so I'm going to have to order some as soon as I get paid.

All I have time for is school books at the moment Two are interesting, though... Fundamentals of Anatomy & Physiology by Martini, Nath & Bartholomew, and Medical Terminology for Health Professionals by Erlich & Schroeder. Over Thanksgiving break I'll be making some time for pleasure reading.

Well,I ordered Golem In The Gears at the library. The Youngstown/Mahoning County library system has something cool called Search Ohio. If you can't find what you're looking for in the system,Search Ohio allows you to order from any participating library in the state!

I love Sci-Fi and fantasy, especially stories where magical things happen in our 'ordinary' world.

Some reccs:

Dark Heart,by Margaret Weis, and Dave Baldwinragons in Chicago

The Knight Of The Word series,by Terry Brooks. The age-old battle of good and evil a Knight of The Word fights demons of the void. The demons are insidious, whispering to humans who are vulnerable. A teenaged girl fights them the help of a sylvan sidekick and the knight is led from battle to battle by his dreams.

The Green and The Gray ,by Timothy Zahn:A man and his wife come to the aid of a child who's on the run. Melanantha is a 'Green' one of a race of people who gain power from living things Their rivals are the 'Grays' who use earth energies. REALLY GOOD READ.

If you haven't already read it, The Hunger Games trilogy is good.
Also Wool Omnibus edition is a series (Scifi ) that was good also.

If you want something lighter, Jess Lourey 's Murder by Month series is funny. The first in the series is May Day.

Well,I just got Golem In The Gears. Grundy the Golem just crossed a moat of acid, played a life or death square drawing game with an ant lion, and faced a gorgon who's the receptionist for the spiteful Good Magician, all to rescue the dragon Stanley Steamer ,pals with an 8 yr old sorceress. And this is just the 1st chapter. The receptionist, btw, let Grundy right in to see the magician. She's a POLITE Gorgon.

That sounds like a really interesting book! You'll have to update on what you think of it when you're done!

I'm currently reading:

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder For Dummies
Clan of The Cave Bear Series (on book 2)
Belle by Mahlon F. Craft & Cameron Dokey (Beauty And The Beast)
Mad Rabbits by Raud Kennedy

And I am about to finish Girl, Interrupted which I started this morning.

I should finish all books except for the Cave Bear series by Saturday and my list for next week will include:

Cave Bear Series Book 3 (or 4 depending on my mood)
Against Medical Advice by James Patterson & Hal Friedman
Ten Things We Did (and Probably Shouldn't Have) by Sarah Miynowski
Rabbit by Valerie Gaumont
What Your Doctor Can't Tell You About Plastic Surgery by Joyce D Nash, PhD

The week after that includes books that I cannot name here as they are adult oriented. But, as you can see, I read a lot and I read many different things. The week after Adult Week I'll be reading books on Anne Frank, Health Insurance, Epidemics, and Parasites. After that, I have hoarding, Chernobyl, two biographies, and a book on kings and queens.
