Upcoming Surgery

On Monday I will be having my right hip replaced. A year ago I had my left hip done and it worked wonders. With this one I might be able to walk without a limp for the first time in years. It is so great that this kind of thing is available now. One of my earliest memories is of my grandmother screaming in pain while trying to put her stockings on. Hip replacements were not an option for her.
I will be off of work for about two months. At least there will be more time to read the posts on Catforum! And kittys make great warm compresses.

Sue

Best wishes that it all goes super smoothly, and that your recovery is equally smooth! A perfect time to read a lot, watch all the movies you've been meaning to watch some day, stay active to keep that new hip working well...! And snuggle all your wonderful kitties...

If having a body part replaced is what it takes for you to hang around here more, I'll take it!

Fran, that is exactly what I will be doing! I have downloaded several books on my I-Pad and will be watching seasons 1 & 2 of "Downton Abbey" that I received for Christmas but haven't had time for.
It's a shame that it takes having a body part replaced to slow down and enjoy things like books, movies and Catforum!
Thanks for the good wishes!

Sue

I wish you all the best and hope that the right hip surgery's just as successful as the left hip. It's good to hear that the left hip replacement brought you so much relief. I'll be headed to THR in both hips eventually too. Walking without a limp sounds divine.

Your kitties are going to be so happy to have you home!

You will love Downtown Abbey. It is such a wonderful series and I think that it will help you pass the time quickly. My husband and I can't wait for each episode on Sunday nights.

Good luck to you on your surgery. Having a major joint replaced can make such a positive difference in your life.
