anyone from montreal?
i know there are a lot of people from canada on here, i just can't remember anyone from that particular part. anyway, i have been wanting to eat poutine for years. i was in toronto in 2010, but i didn't get any. and people are just like, "you can't even get real poutine here, you have to go to montreal." so i guess i'll have to go. i've been once but it was a long time ago, i just remember it being a lot cleaner and prettier than toronto. i really like new york, chicago, los angeles and toronto--they're just somewhat seedier than montreal.
SO: for some unknown reason, i decided to watch "bizarre foods with andrew zimmern," on the travel channel. so what are they eating? poutine in montreal, of course. however, the stuff they were eating iwould never eat:
the french fries were fried in duck fat, with duck gravy and a duck confit on top. as if that weren't already enough, it was also topped with a foie gras. even if i ate meat, i would never eat foie gras or veal. then i just had to keep watching LOL and they started eating horse heart tartare served on horse tongue. ewwwwwwwww. i couldn't watch them eat it so i turned it off.
