Background: Tomorrow we're expecting our 3rd Nor'easter in less than 2 weeks. Lots of snow, wind damage and power out.

So this morning I pull up to a traffic light and there's a bunch of seagulls flying around. I think "oh, they're already coming inland to get away from the storm" and at exactly the same time a new song comes on the radio; I Ran (So Far Away) by Flock of Seagulls. Next song; Margaritaville...now there's a place I want to run away to right now! At least I got a giggle on a Monday morning before another stinkin' nor'easter.

Our weather here in south Ontario across the lake from Rochester NY has been fairly benign lately.....tho see that nor'easter you're going to get is expected to dump a lot of snow and high winds in our Atlantic provinces. At last I've stopped wearing snow boots, but temps just above freezing, so winter coat still necessary.

Catloverami I didn't realize you were from Ontario! I used to live in Rochester. Now I'm wondering if you breed your kitties because when I first decided to get a cat I was contemplating getting a rex from a breeder (luckily for me I went to a shelter because I can't imagine life without Freyja and Ziggy) and googled at least one in Ontario...

Well the storm has just kind of stalled over us. The original forecast was 8-14"....there's at least 18" on the ground and no signs of slowing down. I'm figuring there will be 2 ft before it's done. But all I really care about is that the power is still on both at home and at the store.

Calendar says it's spring, but warm temps have eluded us......temp. is hovering around freezing and today it's been raining, freezing rain, and snow! North of us conditions are much icier in mid-Ontario. Temps since beginning of spring have been lower than normal.....where's the global warming? not here, but up in the Arctic where ice is melting and polar bears are having difficulty getting food.

Been the same here Ami. So stinkin cold, woke up to a little snow yesterday and then it poured all day with temps in the upper 30s. Cold and damp that you can feel in your bones. We had a nice day on Fri and it felt so good to not wear a coat, then right back to the misery since then. I need to move south....

We broke several heat records on Saturday, now it's back to being normal. Wish we could all just have our weather evened out, no extremes.

HAPPY CANADA DAY! July 1st ... Today we're into a heat wave here and in U.S. and most of Ontario. Since I lived in this town by the lake and across from Rochester, NY this is our hottest day so far in past several years---93F or 34C. Keep cool! and carry on!

We're in the middle of that heatwave too. And wicked humid. Jake (the dog) is not a fan of the heat. When he goes out we go thru the screened porch. I have to make sure that the door from the house to the porch is closed....once he hits the heat, he tries to turn around and run back in.
