What are you Reading?

At the moment I am reading a book called "Hidden Warrior" by Lynn Flewelling. It is the second book in the Tamir Triad. It is a fantasy book and really good.

What are you reading?

Well at the moment I'm trying to read 'Heart of Darkness' by Joseph Conrad. It's a classic, it's what 'Apocalypes Now' was based on, and I'd hear its a book everyone should read.
*But* I'm finding it very heavy going, dry and, dare I say it .. boring <<))
I'm sure I must be missing something, but that's just how I'm finding it.
I'm determined to finish it, though!

I am re-reading the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. I'm up to book 3, The Dragon Reborn. I love these books!

Right now I'm reading the memoirs of Katharine Graham, deceased publisher of the Washington Post. Next on my list is The Thirteen Petaled Rose, a book about Jewish views on mysticism and afterlife, and then the memoirs of chef Jacques Pepin. I'm a bit fictioned out right now I guess.

Seashell, have you read Catch-22? Definitely a different perspective on the insanity of war, but a much easier read IMHO.

What are you reading?

Rayonna - yes I've read that, I thought it was really good. But my favourite anti-war book is 'Slaughterhouse Five' by Kurt Vonnegut.

Me, too, KerriKitty! I'm about 1/2 way through The Eye of the World.

My sister bought me Crossroads of Twilight for Christmas. It's been a year since I was reading the series, so I decided to start over and read up to the new book. I've missed the characters so much! It's wonderful to be back with them!

Have you read or heard anything about New Spring?

Mismodliz,
That's so funny, that's exactly why I am re-reading them too! I bought Crossroads in December, started reading it and realized I had forgotten sooo much that happened previously because it had been so long.

I have heard about New Spring - it's a prequel to Eye of the World, if I remember correctly. It is available in hardcover now, but depending on how long I have to wait, I'll probably buy it in paperback.

I'm collecting the series slowly in hardback, relying on used paperbacks right now for reading. I'll probably wait until I read through the series, though, to buy New Spring -- and hope the hardback price drops a little.
