Donating...

I have been a member of the HSUS for a number of years now and for some reason, I'm becoming uncomfortable donating to them on a national level, I'm not sure why. I am considering maybe sponsoring a couple of cats in a no kill sanctuary instead, perhaps money better spent.

I'm really curious as to what causes/organizations some of you support and if you could point me in a direction where I feel I can do some good.

any info would be appreciated. thanks

-steve

Thanks for the replies. I decided to adopt a cheetah! http://www.cheetah.org . I'm also sponsoring 2 cats at Best Friends in Utah.

Don't get me wrong, I totally believe in the HSUS's mission, I just get the impression that my donation money is spent sending me 'gifts' and soliciting for more money. I mean, I have more address lables and x-mas cards and personalized notepads than I can use in 2 lifetimes! And I really don't want to keep donating out of guilt. I also regularly donate food and litter to our local Second Chance outfit.
