Anybody can with the proper know-how, check it out:

www.elfwood.com

They have tutorials.

Ozymandias

I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said--"Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert....Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings,
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."

Emily, Congratulations! That's wonderful.

Ray, anyone can learn the mechanics of writing. As a teacher of English, I have taught that myself. However, a talent for writing, the spark that separates the talented writers from the average, is truly a gift.

You just used a logical fallacie called: Circular Reasoning, or Begging the Question.

Example:

Bill: "God must exist."
Jill: "How do you know."
Bill: "Because the Bible says so."
Jill: "Why should I believe the Bible?"
Bill: "Because the Bible was written by God."

Your saying:

"However, a talent for writing, the spark that separates the gifted writers from the average, is truly a gift."

Talented wrighters are special, because they have a gift(talent).

This sort of "reasoning" is fallacious because simply assuming that the conclusion is true (directly or indirectly) in the premises does not constitute evidence for that conclusion. Obviously, simply assuming a claim is true does not serve as evidence for that claim. This is especially clear in particularly blatant cases: "X is true. The evidence for this claim is that X is true."

Anybody and everybody (that tries) can have a talent for anything, they just have to fead it, if you dont fead it, it dies. How dose somebody become better at something then anybody else (a talent)? They practice it, thus it becomes a talent, or a special skill.

PS.

Forgot to say grats: Congrats
