kudos

Just talked to one of our main clients about an ad I did for them last fall for a national magazine.

He said that the ad gave them the biggest spike in interest they've had in years, and it was by far the most effective advertising they've done so far. (they've been advertising in this magazine for years)

I'm pretty happy about that. I like this client; he's down-to-earth but efficient and fun. And I don't hear "good job" around my office. The little encouragment and kudos I do get come from clients, but most of the time no one says it. I guess it's because I'm expected to perform at that level.

It's nice to hear it, though! It definitely made my week.

Congratulations, Tina! You're absolutely right. I guess employers don't realize how much a pat on the shoulder means. I think we do our best work when we respect and genuinely like the people for whom we work. The knowledge that what we do is appreciated means so much.

Awesome!

Are you at liberty to show, or tell us a little bit more about the ad?

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to show it, since it was used in a magazine. Also, I redesigned their site not too long ago. As you can probably tell, I am fairly restricted artistically at this job, but it is gaining me experience, and I am learning a lot about the development side (programming) and the restrictions that go with it.
