Can you taste the caffeine in your coffee?

Does your coffee have a recognizable bitter caffeine taste (similar but milder than chewing up a caffeine pill)? Mine does, but still has good overall flavor.

I have never been able to tell the difference between caffeinated and decaf coffee. So I drink decaf when its available unless i'm trying to stay awake.

payge,
there is a lot of talk about decaf coffee, and the decaffination process. They use a lot of chemicals, which many feel are worse for you than the caffeine, to take the caffeine out. If you're going to drink decaf, ask if it is swiss water processed. (if they don't know, it's probably not.) That is the decaffination process that uses water instead of chemicals. That way you don't have the caffeine, OR the chemicals! Happy drinking

Agree - my mom went to nursing school and learned about it in her chemistry classes.

I don't taste the caffeine but I FEEL the caffeine...
