New flooring

We are getting new flooring installed in our home as I speak. I am really excited. We have lived in this home for 2 years now, and even though it was a new home when we bought it, having a dog can really do some wear and tear on your carpet. But the living room carpet was really all that needed it. It had a coffee stain, little reminents from bones chewed on stuck in the carpet, and it was just dirty looking. We are having laminate flooring installed and I think it will look really good. We didn't go for the actual hardwood, one because it is more expensive, and two it scratches easier and I have a very rambunctious dog. I am anxious to see what the animals think of it.

I will let you know what I think when it is done. I will try to post a pic too.

How exciting!! Yes, definitely post a pic when you can. Oh, the furrkids are gonna be caught offguard for a bit, as they slide across now instead of getting a grip on carpet.

We're planning to replace the carpets with hardwood too this year, and can't wait.

I love my floor, it looks so good. When my husband gets home and we move some furniture back in there, I will take a pic and post it so everyone can see.

My cat loved it. She found a piece of paper the guy left on the floor and was chasing it around and batting at it. It was so cute. Then She would just lie on it, I guess because she thought it felt good because it was nice and cool.

ohh....pretty. i prefer dark (black) wood myself, but the gold color really coordinates with your walls well.

Well, we have wood on our banisters and it is that color so I thought it would look better to match it. I like the dark too, but it is a little too fancy for our house. I will post a different angle so you can see the banisters.

It looks very nice!!

We were real lucky when we bought the house, all hardwood floors in all rooms but the kitchen and the bathrooms. Even the hallway has a matching floor. They did grind it down and put new varnish (?) on it a few years ago, so we don't have to do it for a long while yet. It can handle at least 2 more grindings before it's starting to get too thin we have to put in new floors (the floors are 40 years old). They put like 7 or 8 layers of varnish on it so it gets really hard too... I'm so happy with our floors!

Great pics!!! That's an excellent color wood, any darker and it crowds the room and makes it look small. I'm having very light floors myself. Then with a neutral background you can be very flexible with accessories like rugs and furniture.

BTW, I love the wall color, and the white trim. Superb. Your furrkid on the blue throw seems to be pondering the new floor too.
