Carbonated beverages: Whatever happened to Red Fusion?

I confess...I have a horrible vice and am an addict: to Dr. Pepper. I constantly have one in my hand...I keep it in an insulated cup that maintains the carbonation and keeps it cold - then sip on it through the day. I drink way too many. I won't admit how many, but much more than I should.

For a while, a year or so ago, DP introduced a new drink called "Red Fusion". They were essentially giving it away to get people to try it. Less than $1 for a 12 pack of 12oz. cans. I bought it. Was "so-so" about it at first, but then acquired a taste for it and fell in love. Of course, the price soon was about the same as other 12pks of drinks, but I was hooked. I gave up my DP altogether, for my Red Fusion. It gradually became harder to find, and now...*sob*....it's gone. I can't find it anywhere, not in my area or in a couple of surrounding states. I haven't called DP but sent emails and they say to contact someone else, then someone else, etc. The "corner store" as I call it (convenience store a block away) told me they (Dr. Pepper) discontinued Red Fusion because it just didn't sell.

Heck, I bought enough of it to make up for the entire DFW area!

Anyone else ever drink it? Ever know what happened to it? Can you still find it where you live? I miss it...

I NEEEEEED my Red Fusion...and no, cherry-vanilla dr. pepper is not even close. that stuff sucks. *sob*

I looove Dr. P, but I gave up caffeinated drinks. I still drink the non-caffeinated version, but I swear it doesn't taste the same and it just isn't as good.
I'll check around here and see if I find any Red Fusion.

I am hooked up to Hill Country Fair. Luckily, it is only 50 cents for a 2 liter bottle.

Today someone gave me a bottle of coke, and I found myself disgusted by the taste.

I feel the same way about the Febreze Scentplayer. I spent $$$ on the Scentplayer. I loved it. However, soon afterwards discontinued the product...and now I can't find the refill cartridges

GRRR...and I spent SO MUCH moneyh on the player!!!

I gotta stock up on catridges next time I see any...

scentplayer is a sort of air freshener with "cd's" that release various scents instead of music. I never bought one, but thought about it. I bought the "wisp" thing instead, and can't find replacements for that either. I did email the company and told them I couldn't find the refills in any of my local stores. What did they do? Send me a coupon for a free refill. HUH?

Call the makers of the scentplayer (eor email) and they can send you a list of places in your area that stock them. Maybe you will get a coupon.

In regards to the company that carried the Red Fusion online...when they say discontinued, that means they don't have it anymore, but haven't taken it off their site, yet (I tried to see what would happen if I ordered it...they don't have the little "basket" icon so you can't even place the order). Oh, well...I really didn't want to pay $9 plus shipping for one case...I'm cheap! I have successfully withdrawn from my Red Fusion habit after it being gone for the last 6 months or so. But....*sniffle* I still miss it. A close second was Dr. Slice, which was available in Houston, but not in the DFW area. And the cherry vanilla D.P. is crap!

My dentist is an ancient old man, who is convinced that Dr. Pepper has some addictive additive, and compared it to cigarette companies (they put something even more addictive in their product to keep customers hooked."

Everyone send emails to DP and the makers of Scentplayer...let's get them to wake up and pay attention to their consumers...online picketing via spamming the companies' customer service inboxes!:

"We Want Red Fusion!!"" "We Want Scentplayer Discs!!""

My husband used to be on a travel bowling leabue and would go to a bowling alley in Stephenville where they sold it. He said it was about twice in $ as much as regular DP, but worth it. He hasn't bothered to bring me one, though

Some dp's are better than other...I am a expert at telling the difference. When I got to Sonic, I save the styrofoam cups (and lid and straw) and pour my canned dp's in them. As long as you don't leave it overnight, the cups will last a few days (I wash them out at night and leave them to dry then they are ready to go in the a.m.) If you leave them filled overnight, the acid in the dp will eventually enlarge the pores and they will start to leak.

Hubby went to Denver recently, and had some spares from the case he bought to keep in his room. He brought them home and they just didn't taste right. They were bottled in New York, and I don't know if it is a formulation or water difference. I won't touch the tap the water here, and usually don't like the drinks out of machines from restaurants. I'm just picky that way.

So, fellow addict: are you willing to admit the extent of your habit? How many per day? I never realized how much I was going through until recently, when hubby put me on restriction.

I also put myself on restriction after going shopping for something to wear to a wedding tomorrow *weeps* I HATE FITTING ROOMS. And I KNOW for a FACT they have changed the size standards or the tags on everything I tried on. GRRRR!

I did a search for you:

I personally am not to big on pop----now they think diet pop is being linked to multipe scherolsis (not sure if that is how it's spelled) and other problems, and even regular pop can cause ulcers. I drink some but not alot. I've never had red fusion. To bad---it sounds really good.
