We adopted a Boxer! He's between 2-5 yrs of age, i'm guessing around 2 1/2 years old. He appears to be purebred (i'd post pics but our camera stuff is lost somewhere.) We haven't named him yet, we are having serious problems coming up with a name. But he's gorgeous with a big huge smile! He walks well on the leash, knows no, stay and get off the couch, he is also housetrained (so far as we have seen) cats don't phase him in the least and he loves other dogs. As soon as I can i'll post pics, I promise! Poor baby has his tail docked anfd ears cropped he also had a serious case of dandruff that a good sponge bath (he got neutered today) took care of.
Congrats on your new baby!
It's a shame someone cropped his poor tail and ears... So sad
I saw a program on Animal Planet (Animal Precinct?) where someone put very tight rubber bands on an ADULT dog's tail to try to "crop" it. Poor guy almost lost his tail, but he was (involuntarily) surrendered to animal control and they were able to save it...though he has a bad scar...but such a happy tail! He wagged it constantly! (Hope his new family doesn't have fragile knick-knacks at tail height!)
My cats' dandruff is getting better (slowly) I am gradually changing their diet to one with a higher fat and protein level. Maybe he suffered from a poor quality diet before you adopted him? Just a thought.
