IMDB

I always use this site to look for movies but how can we find movies besides the top 250 or top 100 of a certain genre? Sometimes you look under drama for example and it lists top 50 and bottom rated 10. What about the inbetweens?

For example, the movie GI Jane, it's rated 5.5 but how the heck would I of found out about this movie if I didn't actually put the movie title into the search option. I'm sure there are lots of movies I'd like to see that I've never heard about....

I like to try using Rotten tomatoe also or one of those CD deal sites, don't buy just to look at titles and google them later

Well, it wouldn't really be practical to make an entire ranked listing of every single movie ever made.

I find movies by going to the IMDB profiles of those actors I like, and I see what they've done. I find tons of movies this way. If I'm looking for action, I'll look up Schwartzenegger or Bruce Willis; if I'm going for a chick flick, I'll look up Sandra Bullock or Julia Roberts or Reese Witherspoon; if I want drama, I'll pick any one of the kajillions of actors in the genre and go from there. Pretty efficient, actually.

That's what I figured but I just wanted to watch good movies that were rated at least 7.0 That isn't going to happen since it only ranks top movies and crappy movies

I use that website for proving my finace wrong on which actor is in a movie we're watching, lol. We were watching National Treasure and he was 100% convinced that the lady in that movie was the same girl who played Queen Amidala in the Star Wars prequels. I try to be polite when I know he's wrong and I'm right, lol. So the next day I looked it up and sure enough, I was right. Natalie Portman was in Star Wars and the lady in NT was Diane Kruger (she was also in Troy, she played Helen).

I think knowing all these celebrities is what clogs my brain up so I can't remember where I left my keys. And I'm only 20! LOL

I have an IMDB search plug-in for FireFox. That's how much I enjoy it.
