Price of stamps...

The price of first class stamps is rising from 37 cents to 39 cents beginning January 8, 2006.

Yeah I heard about that. Stamps are getting expensive and I'm going to have to pull out those darn penny stamps again

In Canada it is 50 cents and still takes almost a week to mail a letter across the street. I swear 5 days at least!

Ya, I couldn't believe it the other day when I went to buy a single stamp, and with tax it was 54 cents! That's crazy! No wonder no one writes letters anymore!

A lot of people really get upset when stamp prices rise, but if you really think about it, it's a mere price to pay to have someone personally drive to your home, pick up your outgoing mail, take it to a distribution center, have it processed, and delivered personally to the door of the recipient (wherever in the world that may be). Imagine how much it would cost if we had to do all that work by ourselves!

I don't send much mail though, because I pay all of my bills online, but I do write letters to penpals.

I agree, any price increase sucks but 2 cents?? All things considered I think it is still one of the more reasonably priced things these days. I hardly mail anything -bills paid online. The only thing I mail are bday cards - oh and Christmas cards. I think it was nice of them to wait til after Christmas to raise the price - they didn't have to do that!

Even if you had 500 notes to send, it's only $10 more tho.

Considering we just had the wedding almost 2 months ago and the holidays are fast-approaching... $10 is a lot of money. And additional headache adding more stamps as I have already purchased the number I need.
