Cookie Question

Okay, For christmas I'm making cookies for everyone, and my dad wants me to make these things his mother always used to make but i have no clue what they are... The description he gave me is its a nut in the middle with this batter/cookie stuff around it... If anyone has ANY idea what these may be i could use your help lol..

hmm no, he says those aren't them...he says they have walnut in the middle, and it's a ball like there's dough totally around it...I think he's nuts...but... if i can find them they they might be worth it.. lol

you could do sugar cookie surprises.

make a sugar cookie recipe, then cut the dough into squares, put a walnut in the middle and fold the dough around the nut and bake till golden

I've been baking cookies too. I am not familiar with the one you are looking for but I found this site which has a really good variety of cookie recipes. If you read though them, maybe you can narrow down what the recipe is.

Russian Tea Cookies are ball shaped and have nuts in them but it's not a whole nut per cookie, they are chopped in the dough. They are coated in powdered sugar and are smaller then golf balls.

Sounds like he's looking for something with a single whole nut in each cookie but I thought I'd post just in case

Russian tea cookies are so freakin good! Now I am craving them in a big way

I think your dad must mean the ones with the walnuts and the sugar cookie dough. I hope you find what he wants

Ahh! it might be russian tea cookies, i don't really think he knows what they are, he sort of just remembers them from his childhood, I'll look-up russian tea cookies and those ones you're talking about mdmenagerie! thanks a bunch for your ideas!
