Crescent rolls w/cinnamon

For holidays, my mom always made this cinnamon crescent rolls. I want to do something like this for Christmas dinner, but I don't have time to make them from scratch because of the long list of other items I am making.

I bought 2 cans of the Pillsbury crescent rolls. Can I just lay them out, brush with butter and a cinnamon/sugar mix and then roll them up? Anyone ever tried this or have suggestions?

Really, I'm not normally this lazy but I have SO much to do already.
