Well I interviewed with one Police Department when I first got back to Michigan. They had one opening, which I did not get. I wasn't suprised because I didn't think the interview had went very well.
Last week I took a computer based test for another department. I was really unsure how I did, ecspecially because there was a math section with story problems and all!!! I definitly do not excel at math! Well.....I got a call yesterday for an interview next Friday. I guess I didn't fail the test I'm so excited! I beleive they have 2 openings. I'm really going to take some time to prepare for this interview. I'm going to research the city some and make sure I go through all the questions I think they will ask. Plus I already have some questions for the.....do you have any questions for us question they always use at the end.
You are doing a great job of preparing for the interview! So many people forget that an interview is a 2-way thing - you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you. When you posture yourself that way it comes across very positive. As a former recruiter, believe me every little thing you can do to set yourself apart from the next person is a plus and it since most people are sheep, it really doesn't take a lot to do that!
Shelly, good luck with your interview! It is great to hear that you got one so soon after your arrival in Michigan. This is yet another step along your path of putting your life together after the breakup.
