Has your electricity bill gone up?

Ours has! They started charged sooo much more. The last bill we got, we had used less electricity than last month and yet we paid over 50% more compared to the last bill. I really hope it goes down because I don't know what we will do during the summer when it's hot. We shouldn't have to pay $140 for a one bedroom apartment when we are barely using the heater or AC.
My husband thinks they raised the price because it has been such a mild winter, that people are using less electricity and so they raised the price to raise profits to what they usually are.

See ours went up, but it's because our usage somehow DOUBLED! Found out this week one of my roomies plugged in an electric heater!

Mine went up, but it was because my usage went up. I don't know where and I don't know how.

I have a one bedroom and I normally pay anywhere between $30 and $50 -- this month it's $97. I'm not sure if that's because of the prices going up or because I've had to use a bit more because my apartment has been FREEZING. I'll be interested to see what our next bill will be.

Mine hasn't gone up. Yet.

Just out of curiosity, doesn't it show on your bill how much electricity you use each month for the past year?

I thought it would be less this time, because I spent two weeks last month with my future in-laws.

Then I found out my bill was $110. It is usually $60.

I am going to go out and buy a new electric heater that is more energy-efficient. I am pretty sure the price of electricity increased in College Station.

OUrs went up, but our electricity and gas is on the same bill, and I think it is the gas that went up......and it almost doubled.

Ours went up because I got a Lands End heated blanket for our bed. It's pure heaven It's so warm and toasty in bed, my girls love it too. Of course the higher electric bill is offset because I'm not turning up the thermostat for the propane heater.
