Travelling between airports

Ok I've been a bit of a muppet. I kinda missed the small print in flights I booked so see family in Ohio. I fly from Glasgow to Newark airport then onto Cleveland. Or so I thought. I arrive in Neweark airport but leave from La Guardia airport. Is there an easy way to travel between the two? I am the most unstreetwise person you could meet so I'm hoping for an idiot proof method here. Cheers

Oh shoot. The easiest, but not cheapest way, would be to take a taxi. I have family members who use those airports, so I can ask them for other ideas.

Here are some links you can check out from Fodor's:

Between lymekaps and myself maybe we can get an answer for you, but I'll have to ask him tomorrow, he's in bed right now.

Shari, you didn't mean Lymekaps, did you? She's a woman.

Misty, Ohio is right next door, I've been to the Cleveland area quite often. Of course, it's still quite a distance, but I wish we could get together!

I hope you make your connection with no problems. You're very close to New York. My guess is that there's a bus between the two areas. What a shame! That connection should have been made clear to you..and arrangements made for you.

Jeanie, I think Shari was referring to her husband...I hope.

Claire, how long is your stopover between flights? And what time of day do you arrive at Newark? Just making sure you have adequate time to get to your connection at LAG.

It's at least a half hour drive between the airports -- that's if there's no traffic, and there almost certainly will be in NYC.

I'll let you know what I find out.

We arrive in Newark and 11.30 am and our flight from La Guardia leaves at 16.40. As long as we get through customs ok then I reckon we'll have no problems. Will probably just jump in a taxi

I don't understand how you were booked this way. There are plenty of flights between Newark and Cleveland.

Are you going to have to pick up your bags and recheck them? If so, I think your schedule could be too tight. It can take a couple hours to clear customs, and if you have to recheck and reclear security at LaGuardia, you want to be there a couple hours ahead. Plus figure an hour for travel. That uses up ALL of your time between arrival and departure. Not to mention the taxi's going to cost a small fortune.

Just what-iffing a worst-case scenario for you.

If you booked this through a travel agent, maybe you can still get your second leg changed to Newark-Cleveland.

Check to see if there is a shuttle bus service that runs between the two, that would probally be more affordable.
