Mathematicians- I have a question :)

I start my ICT degree in September.
A dreaded part of it is maths (I HATE maths!)

Anyway I need a TI-83 plus graphics calculator.

These are hideiously expensive (about £70-£100)
Does anyone have one they dont use anymore?
It needs to have the instruction manual and if possible a USB cable.
I am of course willing to pay for it, but only via pay pal.

It is the calculator required for my course, the next model up or previous model is no good. (Knowing my luck there would be changes that make it no good or something)

I am also keeping my eye out on ebay.

If you go to a university's Lost and Found Auction, you should see DOZENS of TI-83s.

Sometimes I think the University purposely don't give students their TI-83s back so they can auction them off

That offer is only for US residents (she's in England) and it's not really free...after you go through all the survey stuff, then it tells you to complete two offers (apply for credit cards, netflix, etc.) and then you get the free calculator...

Pawn shops and former math students are also a good source,

and now that I have your ear,

you can change the Math Perception.

Luckily, I never hated math, just didn't so much have the interest in doing it, some of it did turn out to be more fun than I ever thought,

if you get some preperation in before Lectures, you can be a winner in Math class,(lol), just call it pre-lecture--nothing very difficult, and no homework to do,

There are a few web sites that can help with lessons, but what worked for me was Video Tapes,

Public Library had Video for all the way through Caculas 4, and I watch TV better then anything esle,

to keep it short, if you can get a little of the types of Math your going to be working on before the lectures,

just let a Video or web site do all the work while you follow along,

your going to win!!!

Lectures almost never sink in the first time, and that's why Math can be such a frustration,

After serveral Veiwings of Caculas Triganometeric Identites, I got a close to perfect score on that part of the test.

So in closing, get your text,

find the idea's of each chapter,

and get some similar material going in your head before hand,

Math Teachers will also help steer you in the right direction, good luck, it really isn't that difficult if you can get the ideas ahead of time.

I know this will sound stupid but its like a phobea of maths (LOL)
As soon as it comes to something I lock up. I can't think of the answer or something stupid like that.
I know a part of it was my math teacher at school. She was a.. (Well I must set a good example, but you know )
She loved nothing more than to embarass someone in front of the class.

We shall see how this goes.

DO NOT SKIMP ON A CALCULATOR!!!

It will be the most useful tool you will ever own.

TI-83s are the best!!! (Casio comes in a close second)

Besides, you can play games on TI-83s
