'Congratulations! You'll enjoy the planning. Just start soon enough, and take Mom with you. She'll be flattered, and it's more fun. Your friends will be excited and happy to help too!

My mom has not helped with anything! But when I showed her everything I've done she was very impressed.

My sister's been a great help (she's my maid of honor) and has put in her opinion for a lot of things.

Crxzy congrats to you both. I'm wondering, if you live in beautiful New Zealand where the heck does one go for a honeymoon/vacation when you're already living in paradise We are dying to visit New Zealand. You lucky gal! Did you ever trace your geneology, how and why did your people (family) get to New Zealand?

Thanks everyone!!!

Unfortunately my mum passed away a few years back but my sister who hasnt got any daughters is helping plan my wedding. The wedding is a few years off as we are hoping to move from Auckland back to Wellington.

As for the honeymoon we will be going to the Cook Islands where we have a holiday home so its going to be free accomodation!

My Grandfather is originally from New York and he was a captain on a boat that travelled around the pacific islands. He met his future wife (my grandmother) in the cook islands and had 4 sons and a daughter. They decided to send their sons to New Zealand rather then america as it is closer to the cook islands.....so thats how we are living here. So yea thats my familys story.......

Crazy, great story!

About the planning, I'm sure your mom knew her opinion was welcome, so that's the important thing
