What concerts are you going to this summer?

So far I am going to the Hat City Music Festival in Danbury, CT on June 2-4th.

Some of the line up includes

The Machine (awesome Pink Floyd Cover band)
George Clinton and the P-Funk (Shari you better be there!!)
Deep Banana Blackout
Respect Due (Bob Marley and the wailers cover band)

The other great thing about this show is that it is free!! There will be a lot of other stuff going on too and there are still bands to be announced.

Sean and I are camping about 20min away so that will only cost $30 as opposed to the $200 or so we would spend on 2 nights in a hotel.

I am dying to see Madame Butterfly, but I don't think it counts as a concert.

No kidding, Kris! I grew up right near there. Where exactly is the festival? And where are you camping? There are some great state parks around there.

I have no concert plans as of yet, but I am going to London this August so who knows? It may happen. Plus, I am dying to go to Tanglewood sometime, so maybe this year...

Here is the link to the website

Here is the park we are staying at tentatively unless you have any other suggestions.

It was the closest one I could find with camping.

Yes, that one is probably the closest. I haven't been there in years, but I remember that the lake was pretty. Plus the town of Southbury is nearby, so you can get a coffee or go out to eat.

There are others I like, such as Lake Waramaug in New Preston and Macedonia Brook in Kent. Macedonia is on the Appalachian Trail. This part of CT is one of my favorties -- the towns are charming and the scenery is gorgeous and hilly. Plus, I got married in Kent and had my wedding reception in New Preston.

I have never camped in any of these parks so I can't comment on the camping facilities.

I see the concerts will be held at a few different venues, including one of my old favorites, Tuxedo Junction. Great place!

I'll be taking in plenty of concerts, though I don't know which ones exactly... since I'll be in Austria. YAY!

I recently saw Billy Joel. I can't say that I'm a fan, but my husband really wanted to go. Even as someone who dislikes most of Billy Joel's music, I have to admit that the guy is incredibly energetic and puts on a good show. Also, we sat in the 3rd row, which was fun.

Hmm, not sure -- I'm moving to North Carolina to be with Erik so we'll have to see what's around there.

None...I don't like concerts...too loud and crowded. I tend to get a massive headache going to them even before the music starts, so I just can't enjoy them.
