How to calm down when your stressed about something?

Hi Everyone, what's your tips on how to stay calm when something has made you really mad? I'm had a stressful night and im still mad about it today at work. I need something to stop me from lashing out at anyone. Thanks!

Get busy doing something else totally removed from what you're mad about.

The best way to cure stress is to not worry about how stressed out you are. It would stress you to stress about how stressed out you are, causing a chain reaction and amplify whatever feelings you have.

Stress is not that bad, really. We spent the last two years not knowing where the next meal would come from, but we do all right. Hopefully it will motivate you instead of harm you.

If you keep focusing on how bad the stress is, you would more likely than not be stressed out by worrying about how stressed out you are. That is not healthy.

I disagree. In hindsight perhaps it easy to see that what you were stressed about is now insignificant... In the midst of it, stress it terrible, and destructive.

I'd say it depends on what is stressing you out. If it's a particular person that's causing you stress, then perhaps the best way to deal with that would be to have it out with that person. If it's a particular situation then, again, perhaps to deal with that situation head on, if possible, would be best.

But if it's due to pressure, and things getting on top of you then, there's no easy answer. I'm suffering from stress at the minute, and I've never felt anything like it...I've lost weight, my hair is beginning to fall out, and I cry at nothing. It can very easily lead to depression. However I know that the stress I'm dealing with will be short-lived, and so a bit of camomile tea, hot baths and happy music does the trick for me!

So I guess it all depends on the cause of the stress I hope you feel better soon!

Do something physical - punching bags work well.

Also, if it's late and for some reason you can't go anywhere, write or type or draw - bang the keyboard keys or scribble hard or punch your pillow.

Don't drive and don't turn it inward.

Talk about it - -vent! Even if it's just to yourself on paper.

Getting it out is important - it may not fix anything but it will make you feel better. Good luck!

And if all else fails, going to sleep or getting drunk helps - lol just kidding!

At the risk of sounding like a crazy cat lady, getting another cat always helps

Use as often as required for stress.....apply liberally....and always wear a helmet

Sorry.....I had to do that. I know that it doesn't help much when you're at work
