Deal or No Deal?

I can't believe I started watching this. I get so upset with these people! Howie Mandel said on one of the talk shows that people tell him they can't pay their bills, have no car to get to work, and turn down huge amounts of money to get more, more, more. I confess to yelling at the contestants!

We started watching this. DH says they are using electronic ink in the cases so that they can make the amounts whatever they want. And he says the reason the hostess women peak into the case before showing the audience the amount is so that they can make sure the numbers are not in the process of changing. DH is quite cynical, but I think he may have a point here. They always seem to give the contestants a fair amount of money but not TOO much, which makes the show more interesting.
I would definately quit and take a deal before most of the contestants do.

We watch the show too... people are defenitly too greedy for their own good... they should take the deal when there's only one big amount still on the board... and before that if they have more then one case to open...

Imagine being broke and turning down $ 100,000, because the family and you say "We came here to get BIG money!"

I cannot watch that show. The greed factor reminds me of the people I have seen at casinos who are blowing their entire paycheck, even though they can't afford to, in the hopes of a big win. It's depressing.

There is no skill involved in that show. It's completely based on luck, so it doesn't hold my interest.

The premise is so simple; yet, I like to watch it. I like the way Howie Mandel handles things, I guess!

You're right, Lisa. It is like blowing all you have in Las Vegas, certain that the next roll of the dice will make you rich.

Worse yet, a young couple went to my pastor and asked if it was a sin to spend their life savings on a huge lottery (about 350,000,000). They had $7,000, and that's what they wanted to do. They did not win.

We all have our guilty pleasures. I catch myself watching "America's Top Model" every now and then.
