Saying goodbye to our Wally, aka Bubbe today

We just adopted him in November and at 14 months old he has what the doctors believe is lymphoma. He has had a raging fever of 106+/- for days now and is just about totally listless. He will OCCASIONALLY get up to pee but will only put his front paws in the litter box. Last night he could not get up at all. we took him to our regular vet and then to the eVet and after bloodwork and urine tests they found his liver is failing. The doctors believe his is terminal at this point.

I usually adopt seniors and losing them soon is not a surprise but losing Polly's playmate at so young an age is devastating. We just NEVER expected this at all. Today we have an appointment in a few hours to say our final goodbyes and help him transition over the Rainbow Bridge. This picture was taken just a couple days ago when he was seemingly well and uncharactistically snuggly.

Poor little guy! I'm glad you have him though, and he's not spending his last days at the shelter. What a pretty fellow, too. Much sympathy. Seems like such a waste when they're so young.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for making a difficult and selfless decision to help him rest peacefully.

Marcia,
I'm so sorry...very heartbreaking:'(
What a little sweetheart, and Polly is going to miss him too...
I'm glad he didn't have to finish out his short little life at a shelter, stuck in a cage...
Instead he got to be at Chez Marcia's, knowing love, caring, and safety...
Blessings, and (((HUGS)))

It's sad you have to say goodbye so soon, but at least he knew the comfort of a home and felt love in his short life.

Thank goodness he's with you Marcia and will know he was loved....so very hard to lose such a young cat. It's always shocking when a cat gets ill so fast as Wally did. He's looks so sweet in his photo. Thank you for making his last couple of months happy ones.

So sad. It reminds me of what happened with Oz - although this has been much swifter. God bless.
