Two Things i am worried about

My dad just put up a fance in my backyard for our new dog. They way the fence is ...it blocks the path of the way the grey kitty comes(I named him smokey). So i am worried that he won't know how to get to his little cat house where the food is. Do you think he will figure out on his own that he will have to walk along the the outside of the fence to get to his food?
-------------------------------------------
I have a small bowl of water for smokey...but he does not drink it. I change the water every day. Its clean and fresh. Why won't he drink the clean water? Do stray cats like drinking dirty water for some reason? Now that spring is here...the big brush is growing back with leaves..so the water bowl is in the shade. So i don't know whats up with the cat not drinking the water.

Thanks.

Re: Two Things i am worried about

Im sure Smokey will find his way over the fense somewhere. A food source is a good motivator and cats are great climbers and resourceful.

Its important esp during the summer to have cool water available. Smokey may have other sources to get a drink too. Puddles and such. Its wonderful you are taking care of this feral.
