miracles do happen!

my cat baby, 12 yr old, has diabetes and things were really starting to look bad. she went from 12.5lbs down to 7.9lbs with in 4 months... she was urinating all over the house. and very lazy (more than usual) then i was recommended to start feeding her the raw food diet and after trying everything else. i finally convinced my mom (she lives at my parents house because i move too often and she's at home there) to try to make it. after shopping around and gathering all the supplies, we went to work. grinding all the meat and bones... mixing in the vitamins... etc. we divided it up in to single servings and stored it in the fridge, we were even able to mix her diabetes meds in to it!

i am happy to report that Baby has gained 1.5 lbs with in the past month!!! and she is primping again (she had stopped), she is acting like herself again... even if that does mean jumping on the counter, or knocking over my water on my bed side to get my attention...

i know that this battle is not over, but at least we are starting to win!!!!

That's wonderful, it really sounds like you are giving her a new lease on life! It is a lot of extra work, but what a pay-off to see your precious kitty get a new chance in her old age....Bravo!

Yay! That's wonderful news! I'm so happy for all of you!

Big, big kudos to you and your family for making the effort to research, buy, and prepare your lucky kitty's new diet!

Re: miracles do happen!

oh its defiantly not easy but in a weird way i think its even brought my family closer too. my uncle lives with my parents and he actually made a batch for Baby... and he felt more involved with things at the house and he tends to her and gives me reports on how shes doing... its really awesome!

i use to cry every time we took her to the vet because it was always worse and worse news but now i cant wait!!!! i wonder how much weight she has put back on... the vet is just so amazing because of course he was trying to push some canned food he sells there at the store. but screw that! we have mother natural on our side saying this is what she's suppose to be eating there for it WILL work!!!

sigh... i couldn't be happier

i would have never forgave myself if we would have put her down with out trying

the extra work is totally worth it!
