Carson's going raw!

Skylar was raised on raw as a kitten. At first, chunks of meat. Then I switched to the Nature's Variety patties and also the Feline Instincts powder mix for meat chunks. She eventually started refusing one food after the other until I gave up on the raw. She'll eat the occasional meal of raw meat, usually only red meat. But not often.

Carson has enjoyed her tastes of raw meat for a little while now. Some chicken, ground beef, whatever I've had.

Just signed up for some Nature's Variety raw coupons to get her started. And since Skylar has been scarfing up all of Carson's leftovers, maybe I can switch her back too. Of course it would figure that I decide this after ordering $140 in canned food - almost a sure thing that she'd start eating raw again!

Re: Carson's going raw!

Ugh, these cats will be the death of me.

Carson loved the first medallion she had. The second, not so much but it was eventually eaten.

This morning she wanted nothing to do with it.

However, she's been weird about food for a while - she won't go near the bowl after smelling it. But she'll willingly lick it from my finger. After a few minutes of that and going closer to the bowl she eventually figures out that its food in there (this has been with EVERY canned food and the raw)

This morning, I topped the raw with a little canned, still no interest. But when she hopped up a level on the cat tree to check out Skylar's bowl of just canned, she started eating it... so I switched bowls on her and walked away. She finished her raw bowl

I think she's just a weird cat...
