Pure Quail Diet?

Would it be balanced if I strictly fed quail (instead of say, beef/pork/lamb/chicken) but still added liver/heart/kidney to their meals? Is quail enough natural meat/bone ratio or should I stick closer to cornish hen? Thanks for the tips~

Re: Pure Quail Diet?

Neither dressed quail nor CGH has enough meat, due to GI tract, organs, head, feathers, etc. being removed. Overall they are probably 30% bone--WAY too high. If you gave 1/4 quail plus a good bit of heart (which counts as meat, not organ) twice a day, plus organs at 10% of the total diet (half of that should be liver) that would be about right, but it would mean that you have very little variety. Why can't you feed quail/CGH sometimes, and beef, pork, mutton, venison, etc. at other times? I would make sure you have at least 2 kinds of meat (quail and chicken (which is what CGH is) are pretty much one thing).
