Milo is having an amazing time lately with all the wild rabbits running around our back yard. He likes to catch the younger ones but won't ever eat them. Though we always know as soon as he comes back with one - he comes to the back door yeowling He always will kill them first as he knows else everyone will be mad at him.
So the one he caught today I put in a ziploc and put it in the freezer. I couldn't just let that free meat go to waste He had just gotten it as it was still very limp.
They (the rabbits) live in the "woods" behind our house and no one around here would poisen them. We just hope that the coyotes will come back for a few weeks and take care of the whole rabbit problem like they did a few years ago.
So, how long should a wild rabbit be frozen? Is there even a need to really freeze one?
