Holistic Vet

So excited! I found a Holistic Cat Only Vet in my local area. We have an appointment to take our little loves in on Monday for an exam and to go over raw feeding. Wish us luck!

Too weird - I was just looking today for a holistic vet in my area. Glad you found one! The only one remotely close to me happens to be in my home town, but I know her, and she is very dog oriented. Cats are not her favorite animal (as if that's possible! , and it showed.

Good luck!

Do keep in mind that just b/c someone advertises him/herself as holistic, that doesn't mean he/she knows a thing about raw feeding. Many of these vets push prepared raw products, and some even push "natural" kibble.

Also, be sure that the vet is good in other ways as well. I choose vets based on how modern and up-to-date their clinics and equipment are, how well-educated they and their staff are, etc.--and the one "holistic" vet in the area fails on all counts, so he doesn't have my business.

@ Hoofmaiden..

Totally agree with you! She is the only vet in southern ca recommend on the FNES website. That's how we found her. I called and spoke to her and she seems very knowledgeable about raw.

Here is her website I think it explains it all!

Ah, yes-- that's Elizabeth Hodgkins' practice. Is that who you're seeing? Her book is excellent. It does, however, tend to emphasize ground diets. Stick to your guns and feed whole food!

Her book (which I do mostly like and have recommended a lot):
