mus hunting -- when there are no suppliers of mice

Has anyone trapped mice to feed cats?

In brainstorming how to get small bones into SKF for her calcium needs, I'm thinking about new ways of sourcing. Hunting mice seems like a stretch, and for sure I'm going to look for hobbyist (e.g. reptile supply) sources.

Having grown up and lived rurally most of my life ... I would be concerned w/ pesticides (farmland) and internal/external parasite transfer from the mouse to your cat. I know not all captive-raised mice are 'clean' but I imagine being raised in a controlled environment is better than the uncontrolled environment wild mice come from.
