Gizzards- muscle or organ?

Hi, all! I'm trying to get my kitties onto a raw (or partly raw) diet, and last night I bought a thing of chicken hearts and gizzards. I'm aware of the 5-10/10-15/80-85 proportions, and I'm trying to figure out where gizzards fit in. I know the heart counts as muscle even though it's an organ in the traditional sense, so are gizzards the same? Last night I fed them about half gizzards, half beef strips, plus a quarter liver each. They ate it all quite happily, but if gizzards are organ that's waaaaay too much and I need to get more meat. On the other hand, if they aren't organs, I'm back to having no organ except liver- I haven't been able to find anything but that and muscle meat in stores. (Haven't started them on bone yet, but they ate the gizzards with no problem and those were pretty tough, so maybe they're ready?)

I did search online and didn't really get an answer, so maybe you knowledgable folks could help me out?

edit: ALSO- one of the chicken livers I got was much, much lighter and a lot... softer? squishier? than the others. I could pull it apart instead of cutting it. Anyone know what's up with that? Can I still feed it to them?

Heart and gizzard are both considered meat.

You can probably order things like kidney or sweetbreads from your grocery store (at least I can) and that would be the "other secreting organ".

Start out with small bones - bone in chicken breast or the smaller bones in a cornish game hen. They should be able to eat those just fine.

Secreting organs, huh? That makes the distinction make a lot more sense. I'll ask about kidneys at the store- there's also an actual butcher nearby who might be able to help.
Thanks for the info!
