broiled chicken neck?

I tried out the chopped raw chicken neck on my cats.
Only one of cats attempted to eat it. He first licked it, then tried to chew it, then after 10 min of trying to tackle it, he gave up...

The other cat does not like chicken, so she sniffed the chicken neck once and turn up her nose and away she went...

I am reading "The Natural Cat" book. The author says broild chicken neck does not splinter and it is a good snack for cats' teeth. She says the neck vertebrae is the only bone that does not splinter after cooking.

Would you recommend to try that out?

I think the cold chicken neck right out of the fridge is not that appetizing for my cats....

Bone is bone, regardless of what part of the body it supports, and it all goes through the exact same process when cooked. I would never, ever, feed any type of cooked bone.

If you think there's a problem with the temp of the foods you're offering, let it warm up to room temp for ten or fifteen minutes or put it in a baggie and then put the baggie in a bowl or pan of warm (not hot) water for a few minutes.

If your cats have never had bone, try them on something softer, like chicken ribs or quail bones.

Can you please tell us the author of this book and the page number upon which you found this info?

The author is Anitra Frazier. The broiled chicken neck appears at page 79 in the book.

Thank you. I won't cook the neck and may try smash it like other people talked about... and warm it up with tepid water.
